Singh Transit Pty Ltd  t/a Motor Mate WA is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety, performance, and manufacturer standards.

Task & responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using computerized diagnostic equipment and manual testing procedures
• Inspect, dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components to identify issues
• Repair or replace defective or worn mechanical parts such as brake pads, bearings, belts, gaskets, and seals
• Reassemble engines and mechanical parts after repair and ensure proper function through testing
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, engine tune-ups, lubrications, filter replacements, and tyre rotations
• Perform safety and emissions compliance checks where required
• Operate diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, power, and air tools to complete repairs
• Conduct test drives after repairs to verify mechanical integrity and performance
• Maintain records of services and repairs, including customer reports and job sheets
• Communicate repair requirements and procedures to customers, including cost and time estimates
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment
• Perform physical workshop tasks including lifting, bending, and handling vehicle components

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial automotive workshop
• Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and power/hand tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship and attention to detail
• Physically fit and capable of performing workshop tasks
• Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing if required
