Teams Leader / Landscape Gardener

Not Average. Not Rushed. Not “Mow & Go.”

$77,459 - $99590 per year (based on capability & inc superannuation)
$2,000 Commitment Bonus (3 & 6 months)
Paid Birthday Off + Quality Equipment + High-End Residential Work

$500 referral fee on offer.

Let’s be blunt.

There’s a big difference between someone who “does gardens”
and someone who understands gardens.

We’re not looking for labour.

We’re looking for a skilled operator.

If you:

  • Know when not to prune

  • Understand plant structure and growth habit

  • Care about soil condition

  • Take pride in clean lines and correct cuts

  • Get frustrated fixing other people’s poor workmanship

Then keep reading.

If you just want a pay cheque — this won’t suit you.

The Problem With Most Garden Roles:

You’re rushed.

You’re carrying weaker team members.

You’re expected to “just get through it.”

There’s no real horticultural discussion.
No real standards.
No investment in doing things properly.

And over time, you either lower your standards — or you leave.

If you’re capable of more, this could be your move.

About Family Tree Horticulture

We maintain established, high-end residential properties.

These are structured gardens.
Designed landscapes.
Clients who notice detail.

Our work includes:

  • Structural and seasonal pruning

  • Species-specific shaping

  • Turf refinement and sharp edge detailing

  • Soil conditioning and improvement

  • Plant health management

  • Maintaining the architectural intent of the landscape

We do not run a volume-based mowing round.

We focus on precision, consistency, and reputation.

The Offer

We advertise clearly because we want serious applicants.

$35–$45 per hour plus super— based on demonstrated skill.

If you’re good, you’ll be paid accordingly.

We also offer:

  • $2,000 commitment bonus ($1k at 3 months, $1k at 6 months)

  • Paid birthday off

  • Further career progression opportunities

  • Maintained vehicles and quality equipment

  • Professional uniforms

  • Structured workflow

  • Team meetings and communication

  • Ongoing development

We’d rather employ one strong person than two average.

Who This Is For

You:

  • Lead with intent

  • Work efficiently without cutting corners

  • Communicate professionally

  • Operate independently

  • Understand seasonal timing

  • Prune with intention, not guesswork

  • Can identify plants confidently

Bonus if:

  • You’ve worked in premium residential settings

  • You’ve got formal horticultural training

  • You document your work because you stand behind it

Who This Is Not For

  • Someone looking for “any job”

  • Someone who blames others

  • Someone who avoids responsibility

  • Someone uncomfortable being held to high standards

We protect our culture carefully.

Application Requirement (Read This)

To filter serious professionals from general labour applicants, include:

  • Your CV

  • An introduction letter with a photo or story of plant you accidentally killed.

  • Photos of your own work or a job you're proud to have taken part in (if available)

Referral Incentive

Now, if you’re not looking right now for yourself but you have a mate who is, we offer a $500 referral fee when we hire the person you refer. The only condition is that they work with us for at least 3 months….we don’t want any muppets!

Confidential Conversations Welcome

If you’re currently employed but know you’re capable of operating at a higher level, we’re open to a confidential discussion.

Applications close in 2 weeks.
Right to work in Australia required.
