About the role

Nest Landscape Design is seeking a passionate and skilled Landscape Maintenance Horticulturist to join our growing team in Bundall, QLD. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on the aesthetic and environmental quality of our clients' outdoor spaces. As a Landscape Maintenance Horticulturist, you will be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring that every landscape we maintain remains healthy, vibrant and beautiful year-round. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and client satisfaction in the gardening and landscaping industry.

What you'll be doing

1. Performing regular maintenance tasks including pruning, weeding, mulching, and general garden upkeep across multiple client properties

2. Diagnosing and treating plant diseases, pest infestations and nutritional deficiencies to maintain optimal plant health

3. Operating and maintaining landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters and other horticultural tools

4. Planting trees, shrubs, perennials and seasonal flowers in accordance with landscape design specifications

5. Conducting soil testing and implementing appropriate fertilisation and soil amendment programmes

6. Monitoring irrigation systems and adjusting watering schedules based on seasonal conditions and plant requirements

7. Providing expert advice to clients regarding plant selection, maintenance best practices and seasonal care recommendations

8. Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, treatments applied and plant conditions at each site

9. Ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations

10. Contributing to the development and refinement of maintenance protocols and best practices within the team

What we're looking for

1. A recognised qualification in horticulture

2. Minimum of 2–3 years' practical experience in landscape maintenance, garden design or horticulture

3. Strong knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs and turf management specific to the Australian climate and Queensland region

4. Proficiency in operating and maintaining landscaping equipment and machinery safely and effectively

5. A solid understanding of pest management, plant diseases and integrated pest management techniques

6. Excellent physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions

7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members

9. A valid driver's licence (manual required for company use vehicle)

10. Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it
