Horizon West is a commercial landscaping business that specialises in Commercial Construction, Maintenance and Irrigation.

Vacancies are available based out of our Landsdale depot.

We are seeking a full time Landscape Maintenance crew member to join our team.  Reporting to the Team Leader this role will be required to work Monday to Friday with early starts required and responsible for the following:

• Undertake general gardening maintenance activities including but not limited to weeding, spraying, mulching, pruning, hedging, planting, fertilising, preparation of soil and laying turf, litter pick up as required as detailed within company work instructions;

• Operate light landscape maintenance equipment including hand tools and motorised equipment including but not limited to chainsaws, lawn mowers, brush cutters (whipper snipper) and edger’s in accordance with specified training and manufacturers operation manuals;

• Work safely and productively in various weather types not limited to high winds, extremes of heat and cold or rainfall;

• Maintain all site safety signage, barriers and other site control measures in a clear visible and upright position at all times;

• Conduct and complete daily and weekly prestart inspections;

• Provide assistance for routine basic maintenance on tools and equipment;

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, job practices and PPE requirements as required;

• Carry out other general labour duties as assigned;

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

MANDATORY:

• Experience in horticulture, working landscape, parks and gardens and/or turf industries;

• Current WA Drivers Licence C Class;

• WA Construction Safety Awareness – White Card;

• National Police Clearance;

• Australian permanent resident;

• High level of commitment to safe work practices;

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to different environments;

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

• Ability to work in a team environment and work independently;

• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment and ongoing fitness for work medicals.

Desirable:

• Pest Technician Licence;

• MR truck licences;

• Chain saw ticket;

• Current First Aid Certificate.
