JOB SUMMARY:

As Workshop Foreman you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day management of workshop operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are constantly achieved.

This is a hands-on role where you will spend time in both the office and workshop floor, providing guidance, mentoring staff and maintaining workshop efficiency.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders are essential for success in this role.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing work in progress, resource allocation, labour allocation and job completion.

• Monitor workshop performance, KPIs and productivity.

• Coordinate with production assistant the dispatch and receival of sub-contract.

• Liaise with sub-contract suppliers.

• Continuous improvement of workshop processes and procedures.

• Identify best tooling for each job by liaising with tooling representatives.

• Troubleshoot machine issues & breakdowns.

• Point of contact with service technicians.

• Initiate machine service schedule.

• Initiate the production & maintenance of machine setup procedures (setup sheets, photo’s).

• Ensure CNC programs are catalogued & backed up.

• Hands on practical involvement in the day-to-day workshop operations.

• Support recruitment and onboarding of staff.

• With management, spec new machines and floor plan layout.

• Update sales with status of work in progress.

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Conduct pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.

• Focus on Quality Assurance.

• Perform all other duties as assigned by the management in a professional and efficient manner.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Proven 1st Class Machinist experience.

• Superb written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability.

• Solid interpersonal skills.
