You will report directly to the Workshop Manager and play a key role in maintaining the reliability and safety of the PG&S fleet.

This position requires a highly skilled and hands-on Diesel Motor Mechanic with strong experience in truck and trailer repairs, including electrical systems.

You will be responsible for ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standard, minimising downtime and supporting daily operations.

You will be expected to work in a clean and organised manner, maintaining a professional workshop environment at all times.

Due to the nature of the operation, you must also be available to respond to phone calls and provide support after hours when required, including assisting with breakdowns and urgent mechanical issues.

This role is critical to ensuring the fleet remains compliant, safe, and operational across all linehaul and local activities.

Annual Salary:  AU$80,000 – AU$100,000 + Superannuation

Task & responsibilities

• Strong capabilities in fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and major component rebuilds.
• Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Attend breakdowns and carry out any field related mechanical repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations

Qualification & experience

• Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III minimum)
• At least 2 years of experience as Diesel Mechanic 
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostics skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
