RAPAH Auto Service Centre is seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join its team. The successful applicant will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining a range of motor vehicles.

Task & responsibilities

• Dismantle and inspect engines, transmissions, steering systems and other mechanical components.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in engines and vehicle components.
• Repair, replace and service worn, damaged or defective parts.
• Use electronic diagnostic equipment and computer-based systems to identify vehicle faults.
• Refer to manufacturer service manuals, technical information and recommended repair procedures.
• Perform scheduled servicing, including oil changes, engine tuning, lubrication and routine maintenance.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance to braking, suspension, steering, engine and transmission systems.
• Test and fine-tune repaired or serviced components to ensure correct operation.
• Conduct diagnostic checks and inspections to identify faults and ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.
• Inspect vehicles and components for signs of wear, damage or potential mechanical issues.
• Maintain service and repair records as required.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ensure appropriate handling and disposal of oils, batteries, fluids and other automotive materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.

Qualification & experience

• Relevant Automotive Certificate IV qualification or higher.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong passion for vehicles with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
