About the role

Townsville Scaffold Hire is seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Mount St John, QLD, this role is fundamental to supporting our scaffolding operations and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently. As a Labourer, you will play a vital part in our day-to-day operations, assisting with various tasks that keep our business running smoothly. This is a hands-on position that requires physical capability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting with the loading, unloading and transportation of scaffolding materials and equipment

2. Supporting scaffold erection and dismantling activities under the guidance of experienced team members

3. Maintaining a clean and organised work site, including clearing debris and ensuring safe working conditions

4. Operating basic hand and power tools as required

5. Following all health and safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

6. Assisting with general maintenance of equipment and tools

7. Supporting the team with inventory management and stock organisation

8. Responding flexibly to changing work priorities and site requirements

What we're looking for

1. Physical fitness and stamina to carry out manual labour duties regularly

2. Ability to work safely and follow instructions from supervisors and experienced team members

3. Basic understanding of or willingness to learn health and safety practices relevant to the scaffolding and trades industry

4. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

5. Reliability and a strong work ethic, with consistent attendance

6. Flexibility to work on a casual basis with variable hours as required

7. Experience in construction, labouring, or a similar physical role is advantageous

8. Current driver's licence and reliable transport

9. Construction Induction Card (White card)

10. Australian citizenship is required for this position
