About the role

Protective Fire Solutions is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourer to join our team in Brisbane, QLD 4000. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our operations across various fire protection projects. As a Labourer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of our services, working alongside skilled tradespeople and experienced team members to deliver high-quality results for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to develop valuable skills in the trades and services industry whilst contributing to essential fire protection and safety solutions. Areas of travel will be predominently Brisbane, Gold Coast and occasionally Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain work sites, ensuring they are safe, clean and organised

2. Assist skilled tradespeople with the installation fire rating components as required to complete a successful project.

3. Load, unload and transport materials, tools and equipment to and from job sites

4. Perform general labouring tasks including core hole drilling and site clearance as required

5. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members regarding project material deliveries and the likes

6. Assist with the organisation and storage of materials and equipment on site

What we're looking for

1. Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks regularly, including lifting heavy items and working at heights where applicable

2. A strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to meeting deadlines

3. Excellent health and safety awareness with a willingness to follow all site procedures and regulations

4. The ability to work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team in a collaborative environment

5. Good communication skills and the ability to take direction from supervisors

6. Previous experience in construction, labouring or trades is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate

7. A valid driving licence is preferred

8. Willingness to undertake training and develop skills in fire protection systems and safety practices
