KAUSAR GROUP OF COMPANIES PTY LTD t/a Kambah Automotive and Exhaust Centre is seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic to join our Greenway, Canberra workshop. The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary between AUD 75,000–80,000 per annum, based on experience.

Task & responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Perform scheduled maintenance (oil changes, tune-ups, lubrication)
• Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies and components
• Conduct safety inspections and roadworthiness of the vehicles
• Replace worn or defective parts
• Test and adjust mechanical systems post-repair
• Use computer diagnostics for fault detection and performance testing
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Mentor junior staff and uphold safety protocols
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (3+ years highly regarded)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver’s license
• Solid understanding of automotive systems and components
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
