The role provides commercial and financial reporting and analytical support to the Partnerships and Alliances management and teams within the Growth Opportunities Division (Growth Ops).
The role
The Finance Analyst works within the Finance team however works closely in support of the leaders and staff in the Growth Ops division and primarily the Partnerships and Alliances department.
- Support the teams within Partnerships (White Label) and Alliances (Roadside, Travel, Life) through provision of enhanced reporting, analysis, and commercial insight.
- Identifying performance opportunities through analysis and interpretation and providing clear insights to the Finance and departments’ leadership. This includes daily weekly, monthly results to understand and drive performance as well as ad hoc analysis and reporting requests as required.
- Support and input to the delivery of financial and managerial reports to internal and external stakeholders, this specifically includes the production, analysis and actioning of daily, weekly, and monthly management, operational and Partner reporting as required.
- Providing input into business packs and materials to prepare and inform business cases.
- Supporting the planning and re-forecasting processes for the Partnerships and Alliances departments providing adequate rigour and insight.
- Guide process improvement from an operating rhythm perspective within and across the customer departments.
- Understand financial implications and risks (including mitigation) of performance, projects, initiatives, and contracts. In conjunction with the rest of the CF team, educate customer departments on these and ensure primary focus on overall business interests.
- Create and update relevant financial models to provide commercial insights to ensure the existing business and processes are optimised and new product, partner, and distribution opportunities are effectively considered.
- Utilise available data and manipulation software to supplement and enhance existing analyses and processes. This will be reactively driven by business requests and proactively driven by your own focus on continuous improvement.
- Liaise with key stakeholders with the Partnership and Alliances teams, the Finance and Data & Analytics teams and the wider business (e.g., Marketing, Pricing, Underwriting, and Legal and Compliance) to ensure effective delivery of key objectives.
What experience you’ll bring
Essential
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an analytical role in a comparable organization environment
- Analytical skills; Excellent numeric and financial literacy, a high level of problem solving, superior attention to detail and capabilities in data analysis and statistical methods for analysis and reporting on key trends and financial outcomes.
- Advanced excel skills and ability to use complex formulas and visualisation to present data in a clear and concise manner.
- Good experience and strong capabilities with data manipulation tools (ideally SQL, TM1, Big Query, Power BI, PowerPivot etc.) is highly desirable, although the ability and desire to learn is the prerequisite.

- Ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, able to work both alone and in various multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to take complex commercial and financial concepts and analysis and communicate data-driven information, insight, and messages with clarity to internal business colleagues and external partners.
- Strong presentation skills, the ability to engage and influence at senior levels and influence internal and external relationships.
Preferred
- Formal qualifications in a relevant area and CA/CPA accreditation or demonstrable intent to achieve this.
- Specific experience in the Banking, Finance & Insurance and /or Technology industry and associated understanding and knowledge of the current and emerging regulatory, commercial, technology and operational trends.
