SA Fluid Power Engineering is seeking a Fitter, Fitter/Machinist or similar suitably qualified/experienced trade to join our team, 3rd and 4th year apprentices may also be considered.

We are a locally owned and operated, independent firm located in Adelaide’s industrial inner North. Servicing clientele spanning multiple industries, we pride ourselves on providing quality service, including specialist hydraulic work, mechanical and hydraulic fault finding, hose making, component rebuilds, machining, general engineering, problem solving, and maintenance.

 

The Role

Based from our workshop, the position is full time Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600 with overtime and weekend work available. The successful candidate will be required to work on client sites throughout greater Adelaide, the Barossa, and some regional areas as well as in our workshop. Opportunities for interstate and remote travel are also available.

Working on all manner of equipment in light and heavy industry, food processing, agriculture, retail, entertainment, manufacturing and more, you will be challenged to find solutions that best suit our clients' needs. Time critical breakdown repairs, routine maintenance, fault finding, problem solving, upgrades, new designs and installation are just some of the skills you will be able to exercise and develop in this role. In order to provide great service you will have the autonomy and support to make decisions with our clients that are in their best interest.

 

Tasks & responsibilities

• Fault finding and repair of mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Assessment, diagnosis, repair and testing of hydraulic components.
• Installation of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Machining – general lathe and mill work.
• Light fabrication and welding commensurate with skill/experience.
• Prioritise workflows and respond to changing client needs.
• Complete service and maintenance records.
• Maintain great client relationships and uphold our company values.
• Foster a safe working environment compliant with WHS requirements.
• Order parts, consumables, stock and perform admin duties required by the role.

 

Qualifications & experience

• Relevant trade qualifications
• Experience with a range of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Solid mechanical aptitude
• Valid drivers licence
• Good time management skills
• Lateral thinking and ability to problem solve
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, written instructions, machine manuals, procedures and schematics.
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
• Additional qualifications like: restricted electrical licence, rigging/dogging licence, EWP ticket etc. will be highly regarded.
