Task & responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair a wide range of vehicles
• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components
• Dismantle and reassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, and steering systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups
• Repair or replace worn and defective parts using service manuals where required
• Conduct computer-based diagnostic testing to identify faults
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
• Test and adjust mechanical components after repairs
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve daily service targets

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role within a busy automotive workshop
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and computerised systems
• Excellent work ethic and self-motivation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
