About the role

VR Maintenance is seeking a dedicated Groundsperson to join our team in Tugun, Queensland. This full-time role is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our client's grounds and gardens, ensuring they are well-presented and safe for public use.

What you'll be doing, but not limited to:

1. Maintaining grounds, walkways, drains and car parks to a high standard

2. Mowing, edging and maintaining lawns and gardens

3. Ensuring communal areas remain safe and free from trip hazards

4. Maintaining safe storage and management of tools, equipment and chemicals

5. Performing minor repairs and maintenance to garden equipment and infrastructure

6. Ensuring work areas are left clean and tidy after each task

7. Assisting with other grounds maintenance duties as required

8. Ability to maintain strong customer relationships.

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience in a grounds maintenance or gardening role

2. Knowledge of horticulture, plant care and landscaping principles

3. Proficiency in the use of gardening tools and equipment

4. Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor tasks

5. Attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work

6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

7. Current driver's license and reliable transportation

Skills: Highly Regarded

• First Aid/CPR

• A Construction Safety White Card (Essential)

• Chemcert or ACDC certification

• Cert III in Parks & Gardens, Horticulture or equivalent (or studying) (Not Essential)

• Confidence in safe herbicide and manual weed control techniques

• Experience with monitoring plant health and diagnosing pests or diseases

• Experience in Bird and Wildlife Management (Not Essential)

• Chainsaw accreditation (Not Essential)
