About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Groundsperson to join our team, playing a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the grounds of the College. This position is responsible for ensuring that the College grounds are kept neat, tidy, safe, and hygenic, while contributing to the overall beautification and safety of the environment. This role also supports the Events team with logistics for events as required.

The Groundsperson will work closely with various personnel, including Academic staff and the Cleaning and Caretaking team to ensure the effective care and maintenance of the grounds. The role also requires strict adherence to workplace health and Safety standards, especially in the use, application, and storage of petrol, LP gas, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, chemicals, and machinery.

This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating and maintaining a safe and visually appealing environment.

This is a Full Time, Perm Role. Working Hours: Mon-Wed & Fri, 7.00am to 3.00pm; Thurs 6.30am to 3.00pm

About you

  • Certificate III in Horticulture, Greenkeeping or Nursery Hand Experience Preferred.
  • Experience in mowing, trimming plants, hedging, and using related machinery and chemicals.
  • ACDC Certificate advantageous.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Blue card (Working with Children).
