About the role
Birdworld Kuranda is seeking a talented and dedicated Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper to join our team. This part-time role is located in the stunning Kuranda, QLD region. As a Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our wildlife and eco-tourism attraction.
What you'll be doing
Perform general maintenance tasks to keep the grounds, facilities and equipment in excellent condition
Conduct regular inspections of infrastructure and identify any issues that require attention
Carry out minor repairs and maintenance on buildings, fences, aviaries and other infrastructure
Maintain the grounds, gardens and landscaping to a high standard
Ensure all work is completed in a safe and compliant manner
Adhere to strict hygiene policies and procedures
Be willing to potentially work at heights
Collaborate with the team to provide the best possible visitor experience
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a maintenance technician or handyperson, ideally in a similar environment
Strong practical and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
Knowledge of building maintenance, landscaping and grounds keeping
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A current driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required
As this is a permanent and on-going position that requires extensive on-the-job training, unrestricted Australian work rights are essential for this position

More role details
The position is four days a week (Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday; 30 hours) and is covered under the Amusement, Events, and Recreation Award. Daily rostered hours are 6:30am-2:30pm.
