The role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Groundskeeper to maintain and improve the 25 hectares of outdoor spaces across our diverse properties. The ideal candidate will be experienced with using a variety of landscaping equipment and have a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in grounds maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain lawns, gardens, and outdoor areas across 5 of our farms, perimeter fence lines, company accommodation, and administration buildings.
Operate a zero-turn lawn mower to ensure lawns and green spaces are kept neat and tidy.
Use a tractor with a slasher to clear brush, maintain paddocks, and keep fence lines in good condition.
Safely operate a quad bike for routine property inspections and maintenance tasks.
Mix and apply chemicals for weed control, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
Use chainsaws and whipper snippers for tree trimming, hedge cutting, and general landscaping tasks.
Perform general property maintenance, ensuring all areas remain safe, functional, and presentable.
Drive vehicles and trailers for transportation of tools, equipment, and materials.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Experience using zero-turn lawn mowers and other grounds maintenance equipment.
Competent in operating a tractor with a slasher and a quad bike.
Knowledge of proper chemical mixing and application techniques for weed spraying.
Strong skillset in operating chainsaws and whipper snippers.
Valid manual car license.
Competent in driving with a trailer.
Ability to work independently and manage a variety of maintenance tasks across multiple locations.
Previous experience in a similar groundskeeping or landscaping role, particularly in farm or rural settings advantageous but not essential.
Understanding of workplace safety standards and best practices.
