Katoomba Christian Convention (KCC) is seeking a Facilities All Rounder to join our team on a casual basis.
This is a hands-on position based in Katoomba, NSW, where you will help maintain and improve our facilities to ensure they remain safe, functional and welcoming for guests, staff and event attendees.
As a Facilities All Rounder, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our site, undertaking a diverse range of maintenance, grounds and facilities tasks. No two days are the same, and the role offers the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
This position would suit an experienced handyperson, carpenter, tradesperson, maintenance worker, groundskeeper or someone with broad practical property maintenance skills looking for flexible casual work in a unique and rewarding environment.
Assist with maintaining the excellent presentation of grounds, gardens, bushland, buildings and external facilities
Assist with the efficient operation and maintenance of buildings, plant, vehicles and equipment
Undertake general repairs, maintenance and improvement works across the site
Assist with renovation, building and property improvement projects
Assist with rubbish collection and waste management across the site
Assist with event logistics, including event set-up and pack-down
Support the Facilities team in delivering a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for guests and staff
Practical experience as a competent handyperson, carpenter, tradesperson or maintenance worker
Experience undertaking building repairs, maintenance and improvement projects
Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual work
Current NSW Driver Licence
Experience in property presentation, gardening and grounds maintenance is desirable
Capacity to contribute positively to a Christ-centred organisational culture
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
Ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff and contractors
Good initiative and problem-solving skills
Flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and guest needs
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong work ethic and positive "can-do" attitude
Honest, dependable and acts with integrity
Maturity and judgement to appropriately handle a variety of situations that arise within KCC's facilities
Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental best practices
Trade qualifications in carpentry, building, landscaping or a related field
Experience operating machinery and equipment such as ride-on mowers, tractors, brush cutters, chainsaws, forklifts or similar plant and equipment
Experience working in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, landscaping, construction or a related field
Katoomba Christian Convention is a well-established Christian conference centre located in the heart of the Blue Mountains.
Our scenic Katoomba site encompasses 28 acres of bushland, grounds and facilities and provides accommodation for up to 540 guests.
