Gasup is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic (General) to join our growing team based in Albion, QLD. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, testing, diagnosis, and repair of petrol engines and mechanical components of a wide range of vehicles in our busy mechanical workshop. This role is essential to supporting our ongoing service demand and ensuring high-quality workmanship for our clients.

Task & responsibilities

• Detect and diagnose mechanical faults in engines, steering, brakes, transmissions, suspension, and other key components.
• Perform servicing, maintenance, and tune-ups to ensure vehicles run efficiently and safely.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engines and mechanical assemblies according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Replace worn or defective components using high technical standards and attention to detail.
• Use diagnostic tools and computerised systems to identify mechanical issues effectively.
• Conduct quality checks after repairs to confirm optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate records of services completed and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with all workshop safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in motor mechanical repairs.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and service schedules.
• Experience using modern diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
