Task & responsibilities

• Performing standard vehicle service tasks replacing engine oils and oil filters.
• Checking brake fluid for water content with proprietary mechanism.
• Checking coolant quality for glycols and rust inhibitors.
• Load testing batteries for state of charge and state of health.
• Mechanically load testing front end, steering and suspension components for worn or broken parts.
• Measuring and visually inspecting brake components such as disc rotors, brake pads and sensors.
• Inspecting and testing vehicle lights, wipers, seats, seat belts, climate control systems, and demisting systems.
• Diagnosing and assessing overheating issues, replacing water pumps, radiators, thermostats, coolant pipes and hoses, and bleeding cooling systems.
• Diagnosing problems with gearboxes and clutches, removing and replacing gearboxes and clutches.
• Diagnosing problems with engines, removing and repairing and refitting engines.
• Using scan tools to retrieve stored diagnostic trouble codes and interpret codes with the aim of rectifying issues.
• Using OBD11 scan equipment to run live data with the aim of rectifying issues.
• Replacing all brake components, discs, pads, sensors, flexible brake hoses, solid brake lines, and bleeding brake hydraulic systems.
• Replacing suspension, steering and driveshafts components.
• Diagnosing, removing and replacing automatic transmissions.

Qualification & experience

• Must hold a minimum of a Certificate IV in a related automotive field.
• An extensive background (minimum 1 year of experience) in the diagnosis, service, and repair of a wide range of vehicles, including passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and OBDII scan tools.
• Proven experience in diagnosing electrical problems involving wiring harnesses and sensors on modern vehicles, as well as troubleshooting air conditioning systems.
• Highly skilled in the professional use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive machinery.
• A strong work ethic focused on accuracy and order, ensuring all tasks are completed with minimal errors.
