Task & Responsibilities

• Identify faults and problems in vehicles using diagnostic equipment and visual inspections.
• Repair or replace defective parts in engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
• Carry out regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
• Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs and maintenance have been effective and that the vehicle operates properly.
• Explain vehicle issues, repair needs, and costs to customers; provide maintenance advice.
• Keep accurate records of services performed, parts used, and repairs completed
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure tools and diagnostic equipment are properly maintained and in working order.
• Keep abreast of technological advancements and new repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
• Utilize diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues effectively.

Qualification & Experience

Formal qualification as a motor mechanic.

At least 1 year of relevant work experience

Must have sound knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, methods and techniques used.

Excellent communication skills

Attention to details

Good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently

A driver licence
