Fleet Pro Mechanical is seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Vehicle Motor Mechanic to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a professional fleet maintenance company specialising in heavy vehicles and commercial transport.

Task & responsibilities

Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in heavy vehicles using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures
Repair and replace defective engine components, transmissions, suspension systems, steering mechanisms, brakes, and hydraulic systems
Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel vehicles and commercial fleets
Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble heavy vehicle engines and associated mechanical components
Tune engines and adjust mechanical parts to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
Test and inspect vehicles after repair work to ensure roadworthiness and operational safety
Carry out repairs on cooling systems, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and electrical systems
Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, and parts usage documentation
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety standards
Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding vehicle conditions, repair requirements, and maintenance recommendations

Qualification & experience

AQF Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
At least 1+ years of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic (Heavy Vehicles)
Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy diesel vehicles and commercial fleets
Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment effectively
Commitment to workplace health and safety procedures
Valid driver’s licence preferred; Heavy Vehicle licence advantageous
