Task & responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the laboratory, scheduling all necessary activities to be completed before production commences or delivery is required and supervising any employees assisting in those processes.
• Manage and oversee quality control protocols and processes to ensure health and safety standards in the laboratory comply with regulatory frameworks.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels, including implementing any technical upgrades to existing equipment and ensuring adequate training regarding any upgrades. 
• Train and supervise Refinery Technicians, laboratory assistants and interns in the proper use of all laboratory equipment and the necessary safety procedures to follow within the laboratory.
• Monitor and ensure all laboratory operations are performed according to specifications.
• Review the results of studies, tests and analysis performed in the laboratory.
• Plan, organise and co-ordinate the quality management processes within the laboratory with a scope to continuous improvement.

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
• years of experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of organic certification standards
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
