Task & responsibilities

• Preparing vehicle bodies and panels by cleaning, sanding, filling minor defects, and masking areas to be protected.
• Mixing paints and adjusting colours so the finish matches the original surface or required specification.
• Applying primers, sealers, basecoats, and clear coats using appropriate spray equipment and controlled techniques.
• Monitoring drying and curing conditions and adjusting methods to achieve an even and durable finish.
• Inspecting painted surfaces, correcting imperfections, and ensuring the final result meets workshop quality standards.
• Maintaining spray guns, booths, and related equipment, and keeping materials stored and handled safely.
• Recording work undertaken, materials used, and any variations required for workshop, insurance, or regulatory purposes.

Qualification & experience

Cert III with two years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
