Task & responsibilities

• Fit, remove, repair, replace, and balance tyres on heavy duty trucks and trailers.
• Inspect tyres and wheels for wear, damage, punctures, and safety issues, and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
• Operate air-driven equipment and tyre-fitting machinery to safely remove and refit tyres and tubes.
• Perform static and electronic wheel and tyre balancing to ensure smooth and safe vehicle operation.
• Conduct wheel alignments and assist with related wheel and tyre services in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Record job details, parts used and the work performed accurately.
• Store, dispose label and manage stock of tyres.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Provide professional customer service by communicating tyre condition, repair requirements, and replacement recommendations clearly.
• Work effectively with the workshop team to complete daily jobs efficiently and meet customer expectations.

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate II or III in a relevant field. 
• At least one year of relevant work experience may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.
• Capable of working effectively in a busy and physically demanding workplace. 
• Strong eye for detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. 
• Clear communication skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. 
• Able to work both independently and cooperatively within a team. 
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to assigned responsibilities.
