The Role

As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, servicing vehicles and carrying out mechanical repairs while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
• Dismantle, inspect, repair and replace defective engine, transmission, steering, suspension and braking system components.
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on petrol and diesel vehicles.
• Repair and replace clutches, gearboxes, differentials and driveline components.
• Test, repair and adjust ignition, fuel injection, cooling and exhaust systems.
• Carry out wheel bearing, suspension, steering and brake repairs and adjustments.
• Conduct post-repair testing to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service records and report any additional repairs required.
• Complete all work in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience servicing and repairing passenger and light commercial vehicles.
• Sound knowledge of automotive systems, repair techniques and workshop equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
