This position is responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of the Company's workshop fleet, including light vehicles, trucks and specialised concrete pumping equipment. Working within a busy workshop environment, you will undertake servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis and mechanical repairs while supporting the modification and commissioning of vehicles fitted with concrete pumping systems.

Task & responsibilities

· Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on petrol and diesel-powered light vehicles and company fleet vehicles.

· Inspect vehicle systems and identify mechanical or electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and workshop testing procedures.

· Carry out repairs to engines, braking, steering, suspension, cooling and transmission systems by replacing or repairing worn and defective components.

· Remove, inspect and reinstall mechanical assemblies where required, ensuring repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

· Conduct post-repair testing and final inspections to confirm vehicles operate safely and efficiently before being returned to service.

· Assist with routine maintenance of company utility vehicles and workshop support vehicles to minimise operational downtime.

· Interpret workshop manuals, technical information and service bulletins to support accurate diagnosis and repair work.

· Complete service reports, maintenance records and repair documentation accurately in accordance with company procedures.

· Maintain workshop tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition while complying with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.

· Work collaboratively with workshop personnel to ensure servicing and repairs are completed efficiently and within scheduled timeframes.

Qualification & experience

· Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or another equivalent automotive mechanical trade qualification.

· Demonstrated experience working as a qualified Motor Mechanic undertaking vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs. Applicants who do not hold a relevant trade qualification must possess at least three (3) years of relevant full-time work experience in a comparable role.

· Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, including engines, steering, suspension, braking and transmission components.

· Experience using diagnostic equipment and interpreting workshop manuals to identify and rectify mechanical faults.

· Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative workshop team.
