We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full time Crew Leader to join the Water Service Delivery branch within the Council. 
Logan Water's vision is RELIABLE, SUSTAINABLE, COMMITTED. Our mandate is to provide safe, reliable, and sustainable water and wastewater services for the benefit of the Logan Community.
This position is responsible for providing experience, on-the-job guidance to field crew while undertaking maintenance and construction activities on water and wastewater infrastructure. You will be providing insights on work activities, leading a positive example, and supporting the Field Supervisor in service delivery activities. 
 

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Lead field crews and contractors, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient task execution.
  • Plan and coordinate jobs to ensure efficient and safe execution of tasks.
  • Complete work orders, timesheets, and provide accurate field data using mobile devices.
  • Operate valves and hydrants effectively as part of network operations and maintenance.
  • Act as the on-site contact, support notifications of water shutdowns, and follow customer engagement protocols.
  • Isolate water and sewer networks for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Assist Field Supervisors, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to planning and budgeting.
  • Attend and coordinate training for self and crew members.
  • Model safe behaviour and encourage reporting of safety issues.

Key indicators for success:

  • Certificate III or IV in Water Industry Operations (or equivalent) is highly desirable. 
  • Strong background in water and sewer infrastructure construction and maintenance. 
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor in field environments. 
  • Technical Skills: installation, repair, and monitoring of water/sewer services, fault finding and root cause analysis, reading and interpreting GIS and infrastructure plans.
  • Understanding of QLD WHS legislation and confined space procedures. 
  • Effective verbal and written skills; ability to represent Logan Water professionally. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor others, and work as a team member.
  • Understanding of QLD WHS legislation and confined space procedures.
  • Organised, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
