The RNA is currently seeking Event Set-Up Labourers to support the Event Services Department across the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) and Brisbane Showgrounds. This role plays a key part in the delivery of day-to-day operations and major events, including the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).

Working across a 7-day roster, the successful applicant will assist with event operations, maintenance, and venue support services, ensuring a high standard of quality, reliability, and operational efficiency across the precinct. This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who can adapt to a fast-paced environment with varied duties and fluctuating hours, including weekend and night shifts.

This is a fixed-term, full time position

Key Accountabilities:

• Support event operations including set-up, servicing, and pack-down in line with event requirements.

• Assist with routine maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning of equipment, vehicles, and grounds.

• Contribute to event planning through implementation of floor plans and run sheets.

• Liaise with contractors and operate equipment safely (where licensed).

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of venues, storage areas, and equipment.

• Deliver cleaning services and provide customer-focused support during events.

• Undertake general duties as required to support operations and event delivery.

The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) owns and operates the historic Brisbane Showgrounds precinct, home to the iconic Royal Queensland Show and more than 300 events a year. The 22 hectare precinct, just 1.5kms from the CBD attracts a million visitors a year and is the state’s largest indoor / outdoor events space featuring the vibrant King Street dining precinct and the five star Royal International Convention Centre.

Although not essential, the following skills / experience would be seen favourably:

• Previous experience as a Labourer

• Current Drivers License

• Forklift License is desirable

• Experience with bobcats or front-end loaders desirable
