The Opportunity:

  • Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment.
  • TL $89,536 - $126,983 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
  • Moorabbin Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.

The Electrical Department at Moorabbin and North Melbourne, delivers both pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs within the electrotechnology industry. Through industry-aligned training, we are committed to inspiring and preparing the next generation of skilled electrical trades professionals. Specifically, the Moorabbin campus also offers specialised programs in renewables and engineering, using industry-standard equipment and incorporating modern teaching and assessment technologies to provide future-focused, practical training.

We are seeking experienced, qualified A Grade Electricians to deliver Electrotechnology training across Certificate II (Pre-Apprenticeship) and Certificate III (Apprenticeship) programs. This rewarding role allows you to share your industry expertise and help shape the next generation of electricians through high-quality, hands-on training in purpose-built workshops. You will teach practical skills including electrical installation, testing, fault finding, safety, and emerging technologies, with experience in renewable energy systems highly regarded. Working within VET and regulatory requirements, you’ll support diverse learners and contribute to strong student outcomes and continuous improvement.

 

As a Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver hands-on, industry-aligned electrical training across Certificate II (Pre-Apprenticeship) and Certificate III (Apprenticeship) programs using engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Create high-quality learning and assessment resources that support diverse learners in workshops, classrooms, and workplace-based settings.
  • Support students throughout their learning journey - from pre-course advice and induction through to assessment, progress feedback, and completion.
  • Work closely with industry, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure training remains current, compliant, and aligned with real-world electrical practices, including renewable energy pathways.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance, and course development while maintaining accurate records, assessments, and regulatory documentation.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40122 or equivalent predecessor or successor qualifications.
  • An approved degree, diploma or certificate in Electrical or Electrotechnology (or equivalent) at least to the level being delivered and assessed, along with a current electrician licence and any required registration.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering high-quality, industry-relevant VET programs that engage and support diverse learners.
  • Strong contemporary teaching skills, using digital tools, ICT and flexible learning approaches to bring complex concepts to life.
  • A learner-centred approach, with the ability to build positive relationships that drive student success and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills, with a strong focus on compliance, accurate record-keeping and meeting deadlines.
  • A collaborative, adaptable mindset, with the ability to engage industry and stakeholders while contributing positively to team and organisational goals.
  • WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
