The salary for this full-time position is $77,000- $87,000 plus superannuation

Task & responsibilities

• Perform complete engine rebuilds, including bearing replacement, piston and ring service, and accurate engine timing.
• Conduct repair and overhaul of automatic transmissions, including CVT, DCT, and AT systems.
• Perform wheel alignment and suspension adjustments for both standard and off-road vehicles, including precise camber, caster, and toe-in/toe-out angle setting.
• Diagnose and program vehicle control systems using diagnostic equipment such as MUT-III, ISTA, Techstream, and Diagbox.
• Diagnose and calibrate vehicle ADAS radar and camera systems in accordance with manufacturer procedures.
• Disassemble and reassemble dashboards for evaporator and airbag replacement, including SRS system coding and calibration using manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools.
• Maintain detailed job cards, service reports, and vehicle maintenance records using Mechanic Desk and other workshop management software.
• Collaborate effectively with workshop staff and provide guidance or on-the-job training to junior technicians when required.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain vehicle issues, repair work performed, and maintenance recommendations

Qualification & experience

•    Relevant qualification in Automotive Mechanics or Automotive Technology, and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience 

•    Additional manufacturer-specific training or certifications will be highly regarded.

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrated experience incomplete engine rebuilds (bearing replacement, piston and ring service, engine timing).
• Proven ability in gearbox repair and overhaul for both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Skilled in wheel alignment for front and rear axles, including 4WD and off-road vehicles.
• Experience in ADAS radar and camera calibration, programming, and pre-heating procedures.
• Experience maintaining service records, job cards, and invoices using workshop software such as Mechanic Desk
• Proficient in dashboard disassembly and reassembly for evaporator and airbag replacement, including SRS system coding and calibration using manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools
• Expertise incomplete engine rebuilds, including bearing replacement, piston/ring service, and precise timing adjustments.
• Advanced skills in automatic transmission repair and overhaul, covering CVT, DCT, and AT systems.
• Precision wheel alignment and suspension adjustment for standard and off-road vehicles, including camber, caster, and toe-in/toe-out settings.
• Proficient in diagnosing and programming vehicle control systems using advanced diagnostic tools (MUT-III, ISTA, Techstream, Diagbox).
• Strong workshop documentation skills, maintaining detailed job cards, service reports, and vehicle maintenance records via Mechanic Desk.
• Effective time management, teamwork, and communication skills within a busy workshop environment
