About the role

Cooper Solar & Electrical Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated and skilled Trade Assistant to join our team in Toowoomba, Queensland. As a casual Trade Assistant - Solar, you will play a vital role in supporting our experienced electricians with the installation and maintenance of solar power systems. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector and contribute to the company's commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

What you'll be doing

1.        Assisting electricians with the installation of solar systems

2.        Loading, unloading, and moving materials, tools, and equipment on site

3.        Performing basic electrical tasks, such as wiring, conduit installation, and panel work, under the supervision of qualified electricians

4.        Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment by following all relevant health and safety procedures

5.        Participating in on-the-job training to develop your skills and knowledge in the solar energy industry

What we're looking for

1.        A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainable practices

2.        Some experience in the electrical or construction industry, or a willingness to learn

3.        Good physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

4.        Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on safety

5.        A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn

Skills and Qualifications required:

1.        Experience with working at heights (on roofs a MUST)

2.        Working at Heights Cert

3.        Experience in Solar PV Array preferrable

4.        White Card

5.        Skills using battery and hand held tools

6.        Current manual drivers licence and own vehicle
