Mobile Windscreens & Tinting Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Automotive Trimmer to join our growing team. The position involves fabricating, fitting, and restoring vehicle interiors — including upholstery, roof linings, and interior trims — along with tinting and glass film application as part of our complete automotive restoration and finishing services.
This role suits a tradesperson experienced in auto upholstery, interior fit-out, and film application, capable of delivering high-quality workmanship in a busy professional workshop

Task & responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Automotive Trimming Duties:
- Fabricate, install, and repair vehicle interior trim, including seats, door cards, carpets, consoles, and roof linings.
- Measure, pattern, cut, and stitch leather, vinyl, and fabric materials using industrial sewing equipment.
- Restore and replace seat foam, padding, and springs for comfort and aesthetics.
- Apply adhesives, foams, and insulation to panels and frames for sound and heat protection.
- Remove and refit interior components during re-trim and tinting work, ensuring precision and quality finish.
- Conduct final fit and quality inspections to ensure alignment with manufacturer or customer specifications.
- Fit and seal vehicle windows and sunroofs as part of interior restoration, ensuring correct alignment and finish.
- Apply automotive tint and protective films to glass surfaces; cut to pattern, apply, and finish to high optical standards
- Fit glass windows and trim
Tinting & Minor Glass-Related Work (Crossover Duties):
- Apply and replace window films, tints, and protective coatings using precise patterning and application methods.
- Fit and seal vehicle windows and sunroofs as part of restoration and trim projects (non-structural work only).
- Measure and cut materials (glass or acrylic) for vehicle interior finishing tasks where required.
Workshop & Safety Responsibilities:
- Maintain all trimming and tinting tools/equipment (sewing machines, foam cutters, heat guns, adhesive sprayers).
- Comply with workshop safety standards, PPE requirements, and environmental controls.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and jobs completed.
Qualification & experience
Skills & Experience Required
- A certificate III minimum in the field with 2 years experience or a Minimum 3 years’ recent experience as an Automotive Trimmer, Vehicle Upholsterer, or related trade.
- Strong experience in fitting, roof-lining, upholstery, and trim & tint restoration for cars or light commercial vehicles.
- Proficiency with industrial sewing, adhesives, foams, and pattern fabrication.
- Competence in tint film application and familiarity with vehicle interior-glass integration.
- Certificate III in Automotive Trimming Technology or equivalent practical experience preferred.
- Current manual driver’s licence and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
