About the Role: 

We are seeking a dedicated and dependable professional who thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in automotive servicing and repairs.

Salary: AUD $70,000 - $80,000 + superannuation

Task & responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a range of vehicles.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
• Conduct road tests to ensure vehicles are repaired to a high standard.
• Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following workshop safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines and provide excellent customer service.

• Diagnosing Mechanical Issues: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues with motor vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, and braking systems.
• Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good working order, performing regular checks and maintenance as needed
• Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair and maintenance needs, providing estimates and obtaining approval for work to be performed.

Qualification & experience

• A relevant trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic, such as a Certificate IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent automotive mechanical qualification

• At least one year of practical experience working in a similar role within a professional automotive workshop environment.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and mechanical problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to accurately identify faults and implement effective repair solutions.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative workshop team.
• A valid driver's license, enabling the movement and testing of customer vehicles where required.
