Northside Transmissions Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join its dedicated workshop team in Sandgate, Queensland. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000 per annum, commensurate with skills and experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, with particular expertise in automatic transmissions and drivetrain systems.

Task & responsibilities

• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmissions, and related systems
• Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Repair or replace worn and defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups in line with environmental regulations
• Test and adjust mechanical parts post-repair to ensure proper functioning
• Use diagnostic equipment and computer-based tools for fault-finding
• Inspect vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or identify necessary repairs
• Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls and perform on-site diagnostics and repairs as required

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
• Minimum of two years’ relevant post-qualification work experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and ability to perform repairs independently
• Experience using diagnostic tools and computer-based fault detection systems
• Valid driver’s licence
