Task & responsibilities

•    Diagnose faults in diesel engines using diagnostic tools and technical manuals 

•    Repair and service diesel fuel injection systems, pumps, and injectors 

•    Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication 

•    Dismantle and reassemble engine components, transmissions, and other mechanical systems 

•    Test and adjust mechanical parts after repair to ensure optimal performance 

•    Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations 

•    Maintain accurate service records and documentation 

•    Identify and recommend preventative maintenance measures 

•    Ensure workshop cleanliness and adherence to workplace health and safety standards 

Qualification & experience

•    AQF Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification 

•    Minimum 1-3 years of relevant work experience 

•    Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and mechanical components 

•    Ability to use diagnostic equipment and interpret technical manuals 

•    Good problem-solving and attention to detail 

•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
