The role

We’re looking for a Senior Policy Analyst to join our Group Risk team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in strengthening and enhancing our policy governance and management across the Auto & General Group, making sure they not only meet regulatory requirements but are also practical and well embedded across the business.

You’ll be the go-to person for maintaining our policy governance and management and ensuring that documents are up to date, aligned to industry standards, and easily accessible to the people who need them. Your work will directly support our leaders, committees, and stakeholders in making informed decisions and managing risk effectively.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on structure, detail, and continuous improvement (and who enjoys working collaboratively across different parts of the business).

Position Accountabilities 

In this role, you will: 

  • Keep our overarching policy governance documents sharp, effective, and up to date.
  • Work with leaders across the organisation to ensure policies meet regulatory standards (APRA, ASIC, ICA).
  • Manage our group wide policy register to keep documentation clear, current, and accessible.
  • Support policy owners across the group to ensure on time review, approval and publication of governance documentation.
  • Create guidance, templates, and reporting that make policy implementation seamless.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform evidence-based policy advice and recommendations.
  • Assisting in the coordination and delivery of policy projects, including planning, reporting, and risk management.
  • Provide meaningful insights to committees and stakeholders.

What experience you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in policy management, ideally within financial services or risk management.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders.
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering outcomes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • General insurance industry experience (highly regarded but not essential).
