Heads Base Pty Ltd has an established automotive repair business. We are looking to add a dedicated experienced Motor Mechanic to our team in Hallam Victoria. You will need to have completed your Cert III in Automotive Technology and have at least 1-2 years’ experience working for a reputable service centre.

Task & responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
• Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Carrying out inspections and test drives to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
• Providing accurate estimates of repair costs and timeframes to customers.
• Maintaining detailed records of services and repairs performed.
• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components and referring to service manuals as needed.
• Computer expertise to generate invoices, keep records, search, and source parts etc.
• Familiarity with using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Being personable with owners discussing their needs and explaining the work undertaken.

Qualification & experience

• Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology issued by Australian authority.
• 1-2 years minimum local Australian experience as a Motor Mechanic.
• Diploma in Automotive Mechanics would be advantageous.
• Training and experience in Automotive Electronics and Electrical Systems
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while adhering to deadlines
• Be self-motivated showing aptitude to think outside the box.
• Experienced in logistics to improve workflow and productivity where possible.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
