About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and senior gardener, ideally with similar experience in maintaining high end complexes or large scale landscaping. This role will focus on the care and maintenance of our residential community based inner South of Brisbane.

Core Responsibilities:

Groundskeeping and Gardening:

• Maintain and enhance the appearance of the common area gardening, including lawns, gardens, median strips and internal shared areas

• Maintain cleanliness, functionality and orderly presentation of all common areas including pathways, driveways, restrooms, and other public spaces

• Perform routine gardening tasks such as watering, trimming, pruning, weeding, raking, planting, mulching and fertilizing throughout the community and external areas

• Conduct regular inspections of the townhouse complexes to identify & action maintenance needs and oversee maintenance works with external contractors as needed

• Monitor and maintain the condition of common areas, ensuring cleanliness, safety and presentation

Day-to-Day Onsite

• Foster a positive and welcoming community atmosphere through courteous and respectful interactions

• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards & ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures

Reporting and Documentation:

• Report any significant issues or emergencies to the management team

• Provide data for regular reports on maintenance operations, day-to-day caretaking, and resident feedback

• Provide administration support where required, aiding community operations and compliance

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Experience within residential or living environments such as townhouse complexes, residential buildings or apartments, or retirement living. Additionally experience in commercial properties, council related works or similar large scale landscaping positions.

• Demonstrated hands on experience with gardening and landscaping maintenance, on the tools, day to day servicing

• Practical experience across facilities and building services such as electrical, plumbing, pools, and associated equipment. This does not require trade qualifications, but a solid working knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot, monitor performance, and coordinate contractors is essential

• Great attitude and cultural fit

• Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks such as cleaning, general maintenance, repairs or other transferrable experience would be advantageous

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks

• Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or Landscape study or certification would be favourably viewed
