United Institute of Training is a CRICOS registered vocational education provider in Melbourne offering quality education to international students. We are currently seeking trainers and assessors for the qualifications below to support the ongoing growth and success of our organisation. The cohorts consist of overseas students. The role can be part time, casual or contract position with the possibility of part-time or full-time employment in the future. Due to expansion of our suite of course offerings we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced staff members for the following role:

 

• Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design
• Certificate III in Cabinet Making & Timber technology
• Cert III in carpentry
• Diploma & Adv Dip of Building and Construction (Building)

The successful applicant must have the ability to effectively communicate with adult learners from a non-English background. 

General duties will involve training and assessment, conducting assessment validation, and providing support to the students when required.

Requirements:

 

For Civil construction & Cabinet making & Engineering

• Qualification to deliver the training in relevant field.
• TAE40116 Certificate in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy, and numeracy skills and TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools for Trade courses.
• Industry Currency to deliver the qualification.
• Bachelor of Architecture/Bachelor of Civil Engineering desirable.
• Ability to plan and deliver training sessions and organise training and learning resources;
• Ability to plan, conduct, and mark/grade assessments as per competency requirements;
• High-level communication, presentation, planning, and training skills;
• High-level computer skills including the Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Fulfil administrative tasks such as monitoring students’ attendance and completing progress reports.

Desirable Skills

• Ability to plan, develop and evaluate training and assessment tools
• Have extensive knowledge of competency-based training
• Industry experience in training and assessment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Be an absolute people person
• Ability to assist in the validation of the Program  
• Knowledge of the relevant Training Package;
• Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development;
• Ability to use LMS as course delivery platform.
• To note that this role does not offer online/wfh arrangements as face-to-face class is a requirement. 
• Weekend availability is preferred
• Availability to work at least 2-4 days a week.
