About the Role

Diggers Rest Automotive is seeking a dedicated and skilled Motor Mechanic to join our team. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality mechanical repairs and exceptional service to our local community. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, testing, and repair of petrol engines and mechanical parts for lightweight motor vehicles.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts using diagnostic computers.

Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components.

Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts and reassembling mechanical components.

Performing scheduled maintenance services (oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups).

Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repair for proper performance.

Inspecting vehicles and issuing roadworthiness certificates or detailing work required for compliance.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education: Relevant trade qualification. At least AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Higher qualifications preferred).

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience in a similar role is essential.

Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with modern automotive software.

Current and valid manual Driver’s License.
