Task & responsibilities

  • Identify and diagnose mechanical faults in diesel engines and related components.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other mechanical assemblies following manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to enhance vehicle efficiency and meet emission standards.
  • Replace worn or defective parts using proper tools and service manuals.
  • Test and adjust mechanical systems post-repair to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Use computer-assisted diagnostic equipment to assess and troubleshoot faults.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and, where required, issue or recommend steps for roadworthiness certification.
  • Maintain and repair essential systems such as suspension, braking, and steering in diesel-powered heavy vehicles.


Qualification & experience

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
