Due to company growth an opportunity exists for a Trade Qualified Fitter Turner/Machinist, with sound experience with the operation of Manual and CNC including: Lathe's and milling machines Strong CNC turning skills Programming experience Setting and operating CNC Lathes with Fanuc Controllers This role is a casual position with fulltime hours under our EBA within a workshop environment manufacturing products for the food processing industry. To be successful in this role you MUST also possess the following skills and abilities: Trade qualified Fitter Turner or Machinist, ideally with at least 3 years post trade experience Experience in general fitting and machining with stainless and/or mild steel fabrication, preferably on food processing equipment.

CNC Operator Designworks is searching for a skilled CNC Operator with expertise in turning and 3-5 axis milling, capable of setting up and running production for our in-house product line. The ideal candidate will have high quality standards and attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and a passion for continual improvement and seeking efficiency. You must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and the drive to continuously improve efficiency and production processes. Experience with Haas machines and/or Fusion programming is highly advantageous but is not a requirement. Our team is collaborative and motivated, and our team leaders are forward-thinking and dedicated to ensuring the team’s success and growth. The successful applicant will benefit from a state-of-the art facility with new machinery and high-quality tooling. Day shift 7-3 or 8-4, with competitive salary and company perks. This position is offered as a 1-year contract with the potential for extension based on performance and production needs. Key Responsibilities & Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in a machine shop, working with prototype or production parts in aluminium, steel, and plastics Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex part drawings and manufacturing documentation (GD&T familiarity preferred) Skilled in accurate & consistent quality inspection during production Experience with tool setup, maintenance, and management of tool life Ability to troubleshoot machine faults and resolve issues efficiently Sound practices in machine setting, fixturing strategies, troubleshooting of part defects during processing Affinity for cleanliness and organisation, and carrying out routine maintenance tasks Basic knowledge of G/M Code editing (preferred but not required) ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience is highly advantageous A sense of pride in your work – we aim to impress our customers with our craftsmanship and love of our trade Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance
