Task & responsibilities

Responsibility

Responsible for carrying out vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, tyre fitting, wheel balancing, and general workshop maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and operating efficiently in accordance with manufacturer and workplace standards.

Duties

•    Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicle systems and components

•    Performing general vehicle servicing, including oil changes, lubrications, brake inspections, and engine tune-ups

•    Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts such as brakes, suspension, steering, and engine components

•    Removing, fitting, rotating, balancing, and repairing tyres for passenger and commercial vehicles

•    Conducting wheel alignments and tyre pressure checks to ensure safe vehicle operation

•    Dismantling and reassembling mechanical components using workshop tools and equipment

•    Testing and adjusting repaired systems and components to ensure proper performance

•    Using diagnostic equipment and computer-based tools to identify vehicle faults

•    Maintaining accurate service records and complying with workplace health and safety procedures

•    Assisting with workshop cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and customer service requirements

Qualification & experience

Qualifications

•    AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience

•    AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training.
