PAKENHAM TYRES PTY LTD is looking to employ a full-time Motor Mechanic at its Pakenham premises. To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate the appropriate attitude, technical skills, and a minimum of 2 year of relevant experience in a similar position. A Certificate III in a relevant field, or equivalent substantial experience, is required. Candidates with more experience will be highly regarded. The annual salary for this full-time role is $78,000 plus 12% superannuation. The position involves the following responsibilities and duties.
Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
Repair and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
Diagnosing faults and testing parts with the assistance of computers
Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts
Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
Reassembling engines and parts following repair
Manage stock reordering and inventory as directed
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, ensuring a professional and polite manner when communicating with customers
Full adherence to regulations, relating to pollution and health and safety at all times.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a relevant certificate III or equivalent in substantial experience.
Experience Requirement:
At least 2 years of experience as a motor mechanic is must.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
Passion for your trade
Demonstrated light vehicle repair, service and maintenance skills including a solid understanding of petrol, engines, suspension, transmission, steering and braking systems
Ability to read and interpret a broad range of vehicles service manuals
Ability to use computers for the purpose of diagnosing faults and testing vehicle parts
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to prioritise workload to ensure customer and management deadlines are met
Excellent customer service skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical mechanical issues to a broad audience.
