Sardar Roadlines Pty Ltd is an Australian transport and logistics company operating a commercial vehicle fleet and an in-house mechanical automotive workshop located in Campbellfield, VIC. The workshop is responsible for maintaining the company’s fleet as well as servicing vehicles for external fleet operators and private customers. 

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable light vehicle Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will perform servicing, diagnostics, and repair work on a range of vehicles in a busy fleet and mechanical workshop environment.

Salary: $80,000 + Superannuation

Task & responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults in light and commercial vehicles using computerised diagnostic equipment.

Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups.

Dismantle and inspect engine, transmission, steering, suspension and braking components for wear or damage.

Repair, recondition or replace worn or defective parts in line with manufacturer service manuals.

Reassemble and adjust mechanical components and road-test vehicles for correct operation and performance.

Carry out associated auto-electrical work, such as testing and replacing batteries, wiring and lights.

Conduct safety and roadworthy inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards.

Maintain accurate service records and job cards, and advise on required or recommended repairs.

Follow workplace health and safety procedures and workshop best practice.

Qualification & experience

Relevant trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent. 

Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience as a motor mechanic. 

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Skills and experience to service the vehicles independently. 

Knowledge of Australian workplace safety practices is desirable.
