About the role

Munro Building and Construction is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team in Bundaberg, QLD. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on diverse construction and carpentry projects within our region. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality craftsmanship on residential, commercial, and renovation projects. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence and attention to detail in the building and construction industry.

What you'll be doing

• Measuring, marking, and cutting timber and other materials to precise specifications

• Assembling and installing structural components, including framing, wall panels, and roofing structures

• Constructing and installing stairs, handrails, doors, windows, and built-in cabinetry

• Preparing surfaces and applying finishes such as staining, painting, and varnishing

• Operating hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including saws, sanders, drills, and nail guns

• Reading and interpreting architectural plans and blueprints accurately

• Collaborating with other tradespeople, supervisors, and site managers to ensure projects progress on schedule

• Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations

• Inspecting work for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary

• Performing maintenance and repairs on existing structures

What we're looking for

• A carpentry qualification or equivalent apprenticeship training

• Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a portfolio or examples of previous work

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and technical specifications

• Strong knowledge materials, and construction techniques appropriate to residential and commercial projects

• Competency in using both hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

• A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and building codes relevant to Queensland construction

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a construction team

• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights where required

• A valid driver's licence is desirable to facilitate travel between job sites

• Previous experience in custom cabinetry or joinery is preferred but not essential
