Our client is a trusted automotive repair workshop staffed by skilled auto body technicians. They specialise in insurance-based work, servicing federal government contracts and major insurers, with a reputation for precision, reliability, and professional service.

About the role
Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for an Estimator – Mitchell, ACT. This is an on-site role assessing vehicles, preparing accurate quotes, and managing the insurance estimating process from start to finish.

Duties

Inspect and assess all vehicles on-site (5–7 Audanet jobs per week for specific insurers + average 10 cars per week total).
Prepare accurate repair quotes and estimates using Audanet (for nominated insurers) and iBodyshop for other work.
Manage the full quoting process, including parts ordering, liaising with insurers, and sending completed quotes/authorisations to the admin team.
Handle insurance-only work, including federal government contracts and AFP vehicles (no retail/customer-facing quoting).
Ensure all estimates are processed efficiently so vehicles move smoothly into production.
Support with estimating workload and contribute to a smooth workflow in a growing workshop

Skills and experience

Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing or equivalent (strong preference for candidates with prior panel beater experience).
Proven experience as an insurance estimator in a smash repair environment.
Hands-on working knowledge of Audanet and iBodyshop (or very quick learner with similar systems).
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time-management skills.
Technical understanding of vehicle repair processes (previous hands-on panel beating background highly regarded).
Comfortable working on-site in a small team and dealing professionally with insurers.
Reliable, approachable, and able to work independently while fitting into a friendly, supportive culture.
Full Australian driver’s licence and right to work in Australia

Benefits

Monday to Friday, 7am–3pm (flexible start/finish).
Competitive pay: $45–$60 per hour depending on experience.
Insurance-only work (no retail quoting).
