About the Role
Are you are an electrical estimator with a strong background in pricing switchboards. You would be pricing a combination of custom and module boards across the commercial and industrial sector. This includes MSB’S, MDB’S , DB’s and control boards. We service a combination of clients, some with exacting specifications and others looking for a full design package. You will be working with the support of an estimating team providing pricing solutions to new and existing clients. As part of a larger group we offer full turnkey electrical installation packages, providing opportunity to further your skills. You will be reporting to the estimating manager and working with switchboard division’s operations manager ensuring that tender submissions are accurate, delivered on time and meet the tender brief.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Sales teams to support successful project outcomes from tender through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and commercially competitive quotations and tender submissions
Review electrical drawings, specifications, and client documentation
Develop material take-offs and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and lead times
Ensure quotations comply with relevant Australian Standards and company requirements
Identify project risks, exclusions, and technical or commercial considerations during estimating
Coordinate with internal teams during project handovers
Maintain estimating records, costing databases, and tender documentation
Provide procurement and pricing support where required
Participate in project review meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
Seek feedback on quotation accuracy and contribute to process and cost-control improvements
Support client communication relating to quotations, clarifications, and scope reviews
Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in electrical switchboard estimating
Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and single line diagrams
Sound knowledge of Australian Standards including AS/NZS 61439 and AS/NZS 3000
Experience preparing quotations, tender documentation, BOMs, and costings
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Experience liaising with suppliers and securing competitive pricing
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Effective communication and coordination skills across multiple departments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software systems
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
Current driver’s licence
