Apprentice Butcher wanted to join our dynamic and energetic team at our store in Lambton NSW.

The Craft Butcher is a high-class Artisan Style Butcher shop, where customers come to experience the best quality products and advice, as well as exceptional service. 

What to expect:

You will be signed up to an apprentice program, and will have allocated time to learn the trade with your tutor. You will learn the art of Butchery from our friendly and knowledgeable Butchers who have a real passion for all things meat.

Your Duties: 

A few things you will learn as an apprentice Butcher:

• Learning about the different types and cuts of meat from a variety of different animals.

• Making everything, from our gourmet sausages, to a number of specialty products such as salamis, hams, bacon and smoked sausages.

• Gaining an understanding of meat ageing process and curing practices.

• Learning about presentation, hygiene and food safety.

• Interacting with customers and learning how to use our point of sales. 

What we expect: 

We want someone who is personable, well presented and interested in learning. A passion for all aspects of meat and food. Our ideal candidate will not be afraid of hard work. 

Compensation and hours: 

At The Craft Butcher, our Staff are our number one priority. As a small business, we are able to get to know our staff on a very personal level, and we want to help them reach their personal and professional goals to the very best of our ability.

Our store is open 6 days, but we ensure our employees only work 5 days each, having an agreed day off through the week and a rotating weekend off. A standard work week will consist of 38 hours, with overtime to be offered as required. 

We are open to apprentices in their second or third years, as well as mature aged apprentices. We will pay above award wages (to be discussed with the right applicant). We offer a staff discount on all the products we sell at our store, and we are flexible with annual and personal leave requests.
