The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Store Manager / Head Butcher to lead our South Melbourne Market store.

Located in the South Melbourne Market, this store has a loyal local following and a steady mix of regulars and weekend foot traffic. It’s a tight, community-focused environment where relationships matter and consistency is key.

This is a unique role overseeing a four-day trading operation (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday). You’ll have full responsibility for the store across these days — leading the team, driving performance, and delivering a consistently high standard of customer experience.

This role is hands-on and floor-focused. You’ll be working closely with your team, ensuring the store runs smoothly, the product is presented beautifully, margins are met, and every customer interaction reflects who we are.

Your Experience

• Minimum of 3 to 4 years experience as a butcher

• Proven experience in retail or food-based store management

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a team

• A genuine focus on customer experience and service

• Confident managing stock, ordering, and minimising waste

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to lead from the front in a fast-paced environment
