Plumbing Inspector REQ-1525

Salary range: $96,154 (Level 5.1) - $109,594 (level 6.3) per annum + Super 
Location: Logan Administration Centre

As a Plumbing Inspector, you form part of the Plumbing Services team. 

Plumbing Services is one of 4 teams which includes - Development Engineering, Development Engineering Delivery and the Business Services Team - Plumbing to collectively form the Development Engineering Program, which are within the Development Assessment branch.  

Plumbing Inspectors play a key role to ensure the Health and Safety of Logan residents is maintained via providing quality assessments of complex plumbing designs and installs.

Position Responsibilities Include:

• Assess plumbing and drainage designs and installs for compliance against the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018, the Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2019, and relevant plumbing standards.
• Provide a professional, customer orientated experience to all manner of stakeholders - applicants, residents, plumbers, builders, developers.
• Identify and assess compliant/non-compliant plumbing and drainage designs and installs 
• Utilise your considerable technical experience to make sound decisions on complex Plumbing tasks, designs and assessments.

Key indicators for success:

• Hold a current Queensland Plumbing and Drainage license with equivalent experience and knowledge of relevant Acts and Council’s local laws
• The ability to problem-solve conceptually and analytically before documenting your recommendations in a well written, structured format that accurately describes complex plumbing and draining works  
• Current, or previous experience working as a Plumbing Inspector for local government. 

Mandatory: 

• “C” Class Drivers Licence
• Complete and pass mandatory position recruitment checks / background checks 
• Be available to participate in after-hours duties as required
• Be collaborative, engaging and possess a community focussed mindset
