The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of vehicles. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out logbook servicing, completing repairs, conducting vehicle inspections, and ensuring all work is performed safely and to a high standard. The position also requires maintaining accurate job records, using diagnostic equipment effectively, and working collaboratively with the workshop team to deliver reliable and efficient service to customers.

Benefits

Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000 per Annum + Superannuation.

Task & responsibilities

• Carry out general servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Perform logbook servicing in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using scan tools and diagnostic equipment. 
• Complete repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and other mechanical components. 
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify additional work required. 
• Communicate findings clearly with the service team. 
• Maintain accurate job records, including parts used and work completed. 
• Follow all safety procedures and help keep the workshop clean and organised. 
• Work as part of a close-knit team to keep jobs on schedule and customers happy.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification). 
• Minimum 1-3 years experience as an Automotive mechanic. 
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. 
• Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Confidence using hoists, workshop equipment, and scan tools. 
• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude. 
• Strong attention to detail. 
• A current and valid driver’s licence (required). 
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a busy workshop.
