Madden Auto Salvage, based in Morwell, VIC, is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team. Since 2019, we have been a trusted name in the Latrobe Valley, known for delivering high-quality repairs, genuine parts, and excellent customer service.

Our workshop offers a wide range of services, including logbook servicing for petrol and diesel vehicles, roadworthy certificates and inspections, brake and suspension repairs, clutch and transmission servicing, cooling system maintenance, auto electrical diagnostics, tyre fitting for all makes and models, and other general mechanical repairs. Task & responsibilities

  • Performing general mechanical repairs and maintenance across a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
  • Conducting accurate diagnostics of engines, electrical, and mechanical systems using modern diagnostic tools.
  • Carrying out brake servicing, replacements, and inspections to ensure road safety and compliance.
  • Fitting and balancing tyres, performing wheel alignments, and assessing tread wear and pressure.
  • Inspecting and repairing suspension and steering systems to enhance handling and performance.
  • Completing scheduled logbook servicing in line with manufacturer specifications for petrol and diesel vehicles.
  • Servicing and repairing clutches, transmissions, differentials, and cooling systems.
  • Undertaking auto electrical tasks such as battery testing, alternator and starter motor repairs, and diagnostic scans.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and following workshop procedures while meeting safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborating with the team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality workmanship and customer service.

Qualification & experience

  • Certificate IV or higher in Automotive Mechanical Technology.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a similar workshop or automotive service environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Genuine passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy workshop.
  • Current and valid Australian driver's licence.
  • Familiarity with modern tools, compurised diagnostic equipment, and workshop systems.
