Task & responsibilities

  •  Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in petrol-powered vehicles using computerized diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-approved testing procedures.
  • Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking systems and other mechanical components, referring to service manuals and technical specifications where required.
  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, fluid replacement and comprehensive vehicle safety inspections to ensure optimum performance and compliance with manufacturer and environmental standards.
  • Test, adjust and calibrate vehicle systems and repair components to verify safe and efficient operation before returning vehicles to customers.
  •  Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical and electrical parts, including brake, clutch, cooling, ignition and suspension components, using appropriate workshop tools and equipment.
  • Conduct computer-based diagnostics to identify faults in engine management, electrical and electronic systems across a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
  • Carry out brake, clutch, steering and suspension repairs, ensuring all work complied with roadworthiness requirements and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform full vehicle servicing and repairs under factory warranty requirements while maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality control.
  • Maintain accurate service records, document diagnostic findings and repair work completed, and communicate repair requirements, service recommendations and cost estimates clearly to customers.
  • Examine vehicles to determine their fitness for road use and, where duly licensed, provided or endorsed roadworthiness certification or notified customers of required repairs to meet standards.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sound understanding of workplace safety and compliance standards
