SBP Australia is an industrial and commercial builder, and our on-site Steelshop is humming! We are looking for a skilled and experienced welder or boilermaker to join our team.

Our Steelshop team fabricates structural steel, racking, access components and a variety of metalwork items, no two days are the same. The Steelshop Manager has come up from the tools and leads a great team of Boilermakers and apprentices, who are always willing to jump in and assist one another.

We take our work seriously, but rarely ourselves. We have high standards, and we want to invest in training a long-term team member who is looking for a permanent, full-time position based at our workshop in Salisbury, Brisbane.

Who we are looking for

• Trade-qualified boilermakers
• Structural steel welding experience/qualified
• Full-time role available, Monday-Friday with opportunities for paid overtime and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate structural steel and a vast variety of metalwork items
• Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, disassemble, cut, grind, drill and perform handheld operations safely.
• Select appropriate safe welding processes and apply quality weld procedures suitable for food grade environments using MIG and TIG processes. Desirable Purge grade ability.
• Read and interpret work orders and drawings, perform measurements.
• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements.

Qualifications & experience

The successful candidates must have:

• Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication (Boiler Maker) or equivalent
• Experience in Fabricating to Australian Codes and Standards
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of GMAW Processes
• Ability to work well within a team – high level interpersonal skills

The following qualifications will be considered favourably, but are not mandatory:

• Experience fabricating structural steel, metalwork items and metal fabrication work
• Current High-Risk Work Licence (Forklift)
• Current Dogman ticket
• Construction White Card
