Good Ways Deli in Redfern, Gadigal Country has a big opportunity available to join the team as a baker in a dynamic, successful young business.

Good Ways is an Australian bakery, sandwich shop and cafe. It seeks to acknowledge and pay respect to our First Nations Peoples and their culture, and to foster this same respect in others. Good Ways is focused on building community by providing a quality product with friendly service. We make and bake as much as we can in store and are open 7 days a week from 7am-3pm weekdays and 8am-2pm weekends. We are seeking a baker with at least one year of previous experience in a bakery with knowledge and experience in sourdough preferred. You will be responsible for baking fresh ciabatta, loaves and pastry. We have have full time and part time hours available.

Responsibilities:

• Mixing, preparing and baking bread and pastries.

• Opening the bakery in the morning.

• Arranging the pastry display in an appealing manner.

• Producing and supplying goods for wholesale/catering/and alternate stores.

• Ensuring all baked goods are completed to a predetermined schedule.

• Maintain a consistent high level of quality in products

• Maintain a high level of cleanliness/hygiene 

Skills and Experience:

• Good organisational skills

• Ability to communicate

• Ability to plan for and meet deadlines

• Dough mixing, proofing, shaping and baking
