Clarendon Bakery situated in Clarendon SA is seeking a talented and enthusiastic full-time Baker and a Baker's Assistant to become part of our small, friendly and committed team. The full-time baker,s position is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the production of our baked goods and be an important part of delighting our exsisting and new customers every day.

The Baker's Assistant role is to assist in finishing off baked items and support the production needs under the supervision of the baker.

Whether you are an experienced Baker looking to expand your career or an enthusiastic assistant eager to learn the craft, this role allows you to contribute to create our range of quality products.

Hours are flexible providing all products required for the shop are ready in time for set up and opening.

What you'll be doing includes:

1. Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, donuts and yeast buns

2. Ensure the quality and consistency of all baked products

3. Managing production schedules and ensuring products are prepared decorated and ready for sale in the shop

4. Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness and a well-organised work environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards by following food safety regulations and procedures at all times

5. Assist with stock rotation and ordering of raw ingredient product requirements

6. Collaborate with the team to optimise production processes and identify opportunities for improvement

What we're looking for:

1. Previous experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef, preferably in a commercial bakery setting

2. Strong practical baking skills and knowledge of various baking techniques and equipment

3. Ability to work autonomoulsy and unsupervised along with being trustworthy and reliable.

4. Good communication skills coupled with a positive and professional attitude

5. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce high-quality baked goods

6. Good problem-solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing production needs

7. A passion for baking and a commitment to delivering quality products

8. Ability to work early morning shifts

9. Early morning shifts typically begin between 2:00-4:00 AM

10. Physical capability to lift, carry and work with heavy ingredients and equiptment.

11. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations

Clarendon Bakery has been very much a part of the Adelaide landscape and the surrounding areas of Clarendon. This year the bakery site is 125 years old.

The bakery is family owned and is in the 11th year of ownership. We are dedicated to supplying a well known product range coupled with good old fashioned corner store service.
