The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out duties consistent with the occupation of Motor Mechanic under ANZSCO 321211, including:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and motor vehicle parts using diagnostic tools, test equipment and technical manuals. 
• Inspecting vehicles to identify faults, damage, wear and defects in engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking and other vehicle systems. 
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components for inspection and repair. 
• Repairing and replacing worn, defective or damaged parts, including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, clutches, gearboxes and other mechanical components. 
• Reassembling engines and mechanical components after repair, ensuring they are restored to proper working condition. 
• Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, brake inspections and safety checks. 
• Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repair to ensure proper performance and compliance with safety standards. 
• Tuning engines and ensuring vehicles operate efficiently and safely. 
• Using electronic diagnostic equipment to test vehicle systems and identify faults. 
• Conducting road tests and final inspections to confirm vehicles are safe and roadworthy. 
• Maintaining accurate records of repairs, servicing, parts used and work performed. 
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications, workplace procedures and occupational health and safety requirements. 
• Liaising with customers and workshop staff regarding repair requirements, servicing needs and estimated completion times where required. 
• Keeping tools, equipment and the workshop area clean, organised and safe. 

Applicants must have relevant trade qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent, and relevant practical experience as a Motor Mechanic. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, sound knowledge of vehicle repair and servicing procedures, attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to workplace health and safety.

This is a genuine full-time opportunity with FYG Automotive in regional NSW, offering a salary between $76,515 and $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
