Task & responsibilities

• Inspecting vehicles and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment

• Conducting logbook servicing and scheduled maintenance on petrol and diesel vehicles

• Repairing or replacing worn or defective parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspension systems

• Performing engine management diagnostics and fault finding

• Dismantling and reassembling engine assemblies and other mechanical components

• Carrying out brake repairs, suspension work, and component adjustments

• Testing and adjusting repaired systems to ensure correct performance

• Maintaining service documentation and workshop records

• Following workplace health and safety procedures within the workshop

Qualification & experience

Relevant automotive trade qualification such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic (General)

• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills

• Experience using modern automotive diagnostic tools and equipment

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a workshop team
